Mind Your Language

Have you ever thought about the undemocratic ways in which language is often used? 

Politicians can be popular for a while, until the lack of truth of their language is discovered by the public.  Sometimes, even a totalitarian distortion of reality can happen in various societies, either on a large scale or within smaller groups.

By undemocratic I mean the use of words to manipulate meanings and distort the truth.

It may be the case that more democratic - and more peaceful - societies are inhabited by people who understand the meaning of the above words, and can identify examples of them in the relationships and situations they experience.
